About

A Journey Rooted in Healing, Wellness & Mindfulness

Our Story

I started my career as an occupational therapist in 1989, working in acute care, rehabilitation centers, and home care settings. During that time, I discovered yoga while trying to stay physically active. I remember watching a yoga class during the relaxation portion and wondering why everyone was lying quietly on their backs. Curious, I decided to try a class myself — and instantly fell in love with the practice.

Yoga quickly became part of my everyday life, and six months later, I completed my yoga teacher training at the Kripalu Yoga and Health Center in Lenox, Massachusetts in 1996.

In 1997, I took a leave of absence from occupational therapy to continue my yoga studies at the Vivekananda Kendra Yoga Institute in Bangalore, India. There, I studied yoga therapy techniques and therapeutic postures used to support conditions such as back pain, migraines, diabetes, and stress-related challenges.

That experience transformed the way I viewed healing and wellness. I discovered a deep passion for combining my medical background with the therapeutic principles of yoga. When I returned from India, I began teaching yoga full-time.

Over the years, I have taught in gyms, schools, corporations, summer camps, community education programs, parent-child classes, and private therapeutic settings. My love for yoga continues to grow through my own daily practice and through sharing it with others.

Our Mission

My goal is to help children and adults develop mindfulness, body awareness, flexibility, confidence, and emotional well-being through yoga.

I believe yoga provides powerful tools that support people both physically and mentally, helping students better navigate stress while building a stronger connection between mind, body, and spirit.

I am especially passionate about introducing yoga to children and special needs students at an early age, creating supportive environments where they can feel empowered, calm, and confident.

Our Vision

I envision yoga becoming an integral part of everyday wellness and self-discovery.

Through movement, breathing practices, mindfulness, and relaxation techniques, students can learn how to manage stress, trust themselves, and cultivate inner balance.

My hope is to guide students toward a deeper connection with themselves while helping them build lifelong tools for emotional and physical wellness.
